Defroster Not Doing Its Job in Your Vehicle?

Defrosters don’t get a lot of consideration, until they aren’t working well.

The big surprise about defrosters is the system that drives it… the air conditioner.

It is your air conditioner that helps to get the moisture out of the air (and off the windshield). When you turn the defrost on, it’s your air conditioner that kicks in to help get all that moisture out. So, if your air conditioning is not functioning properly, you’re not going to have a good defrost during those dark, cold, early mornings.

If you’re noticing that you’ve got a wimpy defrost, yes, please consider it.

It’s really important that your rear defrosters are working properly… and we are happy to test whether or not they are.

A bigger issue… maple donut smell in your cabin

It may sound nice at first, but if your car’s cabin emits a sweet, maple-donut scent on its own, with no pastry bag or pink box in sight, it could be that your heater core is going bad.

A heater core is for the heating system. When it’s leaking it can potentially leak into the inside of the car. And you don’t want to be in a contained space when there is an antifreeze leak… it’s a poison.

I went to Tom's yesterday to get my car diagnosed and it was a great experience. First, they were all booked with appointments but they still said to come by and they would try and get me in. Within 10 minutes, they informed me what the issue could be, looked up the warranty on my car and instructed me on how to talk to the dealership to get the issue fixed. I was impressed by the genuine care and empathy I received and I will definitely go back if I have another issue.

My fiance took his Ford Escape in. They checked what was wrong, were very honest about the cost and still came in lower than expected for the inspection. I'll be bringing my Accord there this week to have it checked. Highly recommended!

After calling and asking lots of questions today I stopped in for a quick service and the everything was top notch. The gentlemen at the front desk and the tech that assisted me were both super friendly. I will be back for sure!
