Thinking of you, our customers and neighbors, a lot these days. All we want is for you and your family members to be healthy right now. You may be feeling overwhelmed, unsure, and at a loss at times (we do too)… and we also know that there are small, simple things that can be done that feel good. We put three small suggestions together for your consideration.
Of course, take the precautions you need to take to stay healthy and continue to flatten the curve. Do what’s right for you and your family… 100%. And… see if any of these optional actions resonate:
Drop off or donate: West Seattle Food Bank
It’s amazing to see West Seattle, White Center, and Burien neighborhoods coming together with neighbors helping neighbors. We wouldn’t say it’s surprising, but it’s heartening to see care and kindness spread throughout our area during this COVID-19 crisis.
One of the community services very close to our hearts is the West Seattle Food Bank. It’s a valuable, powerful resource for many right now… and it needs help and support in order to continue. If you can pick up a couple of extra cans or boxes of dry goods or pantry staples (including diapers, pet food, and kitty litter) next time you’re at the store to share, that’d be an incredible and caring gesture. (Rather donate financially? Do that right here.)
Feel free to drop items off in our office during business hours when you’re next in our neighborhood. We’re open as an essential business right now and take donations year-round for our beloved West Seattle Food Bank.
While you’re here, we’ll sanitize your keys
It’s one of those things we don’t often consider, but when you think about it for a minute, keys are a high-touch object. Ewww! We’ve all learned a lot about sanitizing surfaces in our day-to-day lives and for us in the shop, keys are a big part of that. We have a medical-grade hand sanitizer that we use on keys for vehicles coming into the shop (both coming in, and then also going out).
At home, you could set up a little station for your keys wherever you drop them when you get home. It could be as easy as setting your keys on a washcloth and having a spray cleaner nearby to spritz them when you come in the door.
Cleaning the car, enjoying the sunshine
One other way to keep clean, and keep busy, is to do an old fashioned carwash and enjoy the rare sunshine that has been out lately. This is mostly for those in single-family homes, and only if you have a driveway.
Though anyone with a vehicle might consider wiping down the interiors. Take a good interior surface cleaner and washcloth to the interiors of your vehicles, no matter where you are. Wipe the dash and door panels, wash the windows, vacuum the upholstery and floors, tidy up and organize.
How about leaving a spray bottle of cleaner, a pair of rubber gloves, and a cloth or towel in your vehicle for when you pump gas?
As we go along this uncertain COVID-19 path, we’ll share more ideas, suggestions, and considerations, especially around car travel and vehicle maintenance.
Give a call with questions about any of the above ideas.
We’re open and here for you and yours, West Seattle!
